Larry's Life ( in a nut shell )
Larry Foster began DJing in 1969, working in numerous east end pubs. In 1976, he won the LUYC (london Union Of Youth Clubs), DJ Of The Year competition. He received his award from none other than Suzi Quatro!!!
As the "Mad Hatter," he performed at many functions non-stop for two years. He then became resident DJ at Ilford's Room At The Top nightclub where he stayed for three years, moving to The Villa in Gants Hill, (now Faces) in 1981.
During the 1980s, Larry also worked at the Epping Forest Country Club, the Tottenham Royal, and Stop Outs in Ilford. In fact, so many, he was once known as the "King of Clubs."
In 1985, he became resident DJ at The Townhouse in Enfield, where he stayed until it closed in January 2004. Since that time, he has been working as a mobile DJ and pop quiz master. He can now offer his services for your private function or nostalgic nights, at very competitive rates.
Larry possesses one of the largest private record collections in the UK, with over 75,000 records on vinyl and CD. To celebrate the 1000th UK number one, Larry played in public all of them, from 1952, right up until 2005, for charity. His ambition is to own every UK hit single.
He has made several television appearances, including Gloria Hunniford's 'Open House', 'Rise' on Channel 4, and most notably, his early exit on the 'Weakest Link'!
His vast music knowledge has been requested by music magazines, radio stations and fellow DJs.
